Term 3 Week 9

We start practising techniques such as curling and fringing to make a different type of mask.
These ones are not for wearing but to display on the wall.
We shared them with Room 5 , they gave us lots of positive feedback and asked us very clever questions about how we made them.

We started by just focusing on the hair and eyebrows.

Term 3 Week 8

We glue our feathers on and our wonderful Pukekos are created...all ready to march down the street on the 19th of October (20th if it rains on the 19th)
The Room 11 students will need a blue t-shirt to wear on the day.
The other classes making a kakapo will need a green t-shirt and those classes making the tui will need a black t-shirt.

Term 3 - Week 7

Nothing beats a bit of live music!

We paint and cut out the feathers for our bird masks.
Once again thanks to the parent helpers...
we hope your hands have recovered from using child-sized scissors!

The Pukeko masks awaiting the next (and final) step when we will be attaching all the feathers.

We put rockets together that show different ways of representing fractions.
